Living Well North Yorkshire helps individuals make changes to their lives that prevent them from needing more formal and regular support from social care services.

Living Well co-ordinators work on a one-to-one basis with individuals (and carers) who may be on the cusp of needing formal social care, to help them identify solutions to address their health and well-being goals.

In 2016, North Yorkshire County Council commissioned Chrysalis Research to conduct a two-year evaluation of the Living Well North Service. We are using a mixed methods approach to gather primary research data; a post-intervention online satisfaction questionnaire, pre- and post-service questionnaire and phone interviews with users of the service. The evaluation also uses secondary data collected from clients by the council.

The Year 1 evaluation identified how Living Well has been delivered since its commencement, explored clients’ experiences of the Living Well service and the key impacts the service has achieved. It also established the extent to which the service has prevented, reduced or delayed adults’ entry to formal social care.
